“sportme” is a tool from users for users, a classical online community. The service provides, in the anticipated areas, contact possibilities between the users. To make this idea work there is no other way to provide some personal data for clearly specified usage. For “sportme” the users privacy is the highest priority. You, as our user have the rightful demand that while we are handling your personal data we do handle it with the highest possible security.
Through this declaration we inform you about the data aspects that are relevant from our offer. By ticking the check-box you agree to the following terms regarding the collection, process and usage of your personal data. At any time you can withdraw your approval. § 1 Intention of collecting and using personal data
Collecting your data provides us with the information we need to provide you with a user friendly, efficient and safe online tool. All user- related data that is collected and evaluated will be used for the purpose of submitting it to third parties situated within the “Sportme” platform. The latter includes all newsletters if you choose that option and email notifications in certain situation (see 20.2 in the General Terms and Conditions). Aside from the above, the purpose of our data-handling is to improve the overall performance and security of “Sportme” so there will be no evaluation of user-related data. Nonetheless any evaluation process is fully anonymous.

When you register and open a user account and after you participate on the platform your personal data is being collected and evaluated at "sportme". During the user account opening process we ask for the following fundamental data (the following is called "stock data"):
1. Your email address
2. Your first and last name and if you are a member of a club, the full name of the club
3. Your preferred sports
4. Your gender
5. A password that you choose yourself. The password will be saved with an encryption and will not be viewable as plain-text at any time
Furthermore you can complete your user profile with a multiplicity of data. All data that is added afterwards will become a part of the stock data.
The stock data is necessary in order to administer and edit your user account in case of a difficult situation in which we need to contact you with the above mentioned email notification (which you can unsubscribe from at any time) or if the notification is unable to be sent.
Furthermore you have the possibility of signing up for a newsletter. If you choose so, we will send you a newsletter to your email address in adequate time intervals. The content of the newsletters will range from “Sportme” editorial information to topic related advertising.
Within the usage of "sportme" we use cookies, which are permanently stored on your computer. (5)
1. User Data
To protect ourselves against abuse and fraud we save every IP address for six months of registered and logged in users who access our website. By accepting these declarations you accept the six month storage and evaluation clause.
2. Usage of the website and user profiles
Basically you can use our website without the declaration of any personal data. However we do create a pseudonym, a so called user profile, when you visit our website as a registered user or as a simple internet user.
After that we gather and save the anonymous data for marketing and optimization purposes. For example this includes data from the website you are coming from to visit "Sportme," the name of your internet provider and also the date and duration of your visit. Out of this anonymous data we create a pseudonym user profile. Therefore we use cookies (5) that exclusively collect and save anonymous data. In addition we save and evaluate data about the user’s behaviour for marketing and optimization purposes.
For example this means that we do not save which user behaviour you prefer but rather that there is an existing user that has a certain usage profile. There will be no data saved from which we could conclude your personal click and reading behaviour.
At any time you can oppose the data collection and saving.
Our website could have links to other websites that are in no way connected to "sportme". After clicking on the link we have no influence on further processing of any personal data such as IP addresses or URL’s to which the link can be found. Since third party behaviour cannot be controlled by sportme, we do not take any accountability for the process of any collected data.
§ 3 Third Party Data Circulation
On the "sportme" website you have the possibility to publish information about yourself, your job, your favorite sports, etc... You can also share the latter information throughout our website with third parties. Therefore the nature of "sportme" is publishing and circulation of user related data.
However, you decide which information (excluding the obligatory information) you want to publish (2). Furthermore you have the possibility to restrict who can view your information to only the "sportme" administration, registered users, friends, fans etc… Insofar all user related data is to be completed on an optional basis in order to provide all other users and visitors of our website a better chance to get to know you. The data that you optionally provide is made available to all other users on the anticipated areas on our website.
A special feature is the possibility for the user, in case you are visible on an uploaded photo, to be marked on the photo so that when you move your cursor over the assigned area a box appears with the details of the person behind the picture. That box provides a link to your user profile. As soon as another user is using that feature in combination with your user profile you will be immediately notified. You can also prevent other users from using the feature in combination with your user profile.
Beyond that we only pass on person related data to third parties if this is necessary to meet the obligation we have in our contract with you, legal obligations or to enforce our terms & conditions or other closed agreements and therefore also our rights and demands.
§ 4 Providing Information, Adjustments, Deletion, Blocking an account
At any time through written request we will provide you with information as to which of your personal information is saved at "Sportme." Furthermore at any time there is the chance that your user account and personal data will be blocked or erased. This excludes the data we need to process outstanding tasks along with the data we need to enforce our rights. It also excludes the saved data that we need to meet our legal obligations. Future activities on our website are only possible if you register again.
§ 5 Cookies
Within the usage of our website we use "cookies" if you maintain a user account on our website. Cookies are small files which are saved on your hard drive and provide us with certain information such as your IP address, login data, browser type and version, email address, order history, url click stream (the order you visited pages of our website and which products you looked at), the time and date of your visit and the number of your cookie.
